SINAR MALAHAYATI

* We have received reports that chemical/products tanker, SINAR MALAHAYATI was in collision with product tanker FORTUNE PACIFIC XLIX in waters off Banten, Indonesia on 12 April 2023.

* FORTUNE PACIFIC XLIX is a 2008 built product tanker with a gross tonnage of 4,032 tonnes. At the time of the incident the vessel was proceeding from Tanjung Gerem to Bengkulu (Indonesia).

* Reportedly the incident occurred as the SINAR MALAHAYATI was navigating inbound to Tanjung Gerem port, whilst FORTUNE PACIFIC XLIX was departing. There are no reports of any leakage of cargo from either vessel following the collision.

* As a result of the collision, SINAR MALAHAYATI reportedly sustained damage to its bow while FORTUNE PACIFIC XLIX was damaged on the starboard side of the hull. Both vessels have been taken to anchor for inspection and investigation by the port authority.

* It is possible that General Average and Recovery issues may arise as a result of this incident.
