FRANKEN

* We have received reports that chemical tanker, FRANKEN, experienced a fire in the engine room while navigating the River Rhine near Orsoy, Germany, on 22 April 2023.

* The fire was largely extinguished by operation of the vessel's fire extinguishing system while local firefighters extinguished any remaining hot spots.

*The vessel was later taken under tow to Duisburg-Rheinhausen, Germany, where it was safely berthed and currently remains stationary.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
